Sir George opened the Appleshaw Fete and Flower Show on Bank Holiday Monday, on
"Hilary McCall and his committee did a first class job in attracting so many visitors to the Fete this year. Atmosphere was provided by Jubilee Trad who played traditional jazz all afternoon. There were popular events such as a Horse Parade, a Tractor Parade, a Fancy Dress Parade and Dog Show. The Hog Roast and the Beer Tent were popular destinations, and we all had a great time with fantastic weather."

Appleshaw Village Fete

On behalf of the Flower Show and Fete Committee, I would like to welcome visitors to our 20O5 Flower Show and Fete.
The Flower Show and Fete were at one time held as separate events and it is belived that the former event has been the longer standing one.
Visitors to the Show last year may remember that a number of the exhibits were of an extremely high standard and in recognition of this the Committee has increased the prize money for 2005.
The village has always had the reputation of being one of the prettiest of the valley villages around Andover (often referred to by Estate Agents as the “much sought after village of Appleshaw”), and the continuation of this long held Show reflects the efforts village householders make with their gardens.
We hope that visitors will try all the stalls. The Fete Committee has also made an effort to see that stall prizes are ones worth having without our charges being raised to deterrent rates.
The playing field on which the Fete is held has been played on by the great W. G. Grace and although the Appleshaw Cricket team is in abeyance we all hope and believe that this is only temporary and before long summer afternoons will resound again to the sound of bat on ball.
All profits go to Appleshaw Associations and Causes so please spend generously and have a wonderful time.
