Maureen Peck prepares to cut the cake at her retirement party. She leaves Amport Church of England Primary School after 23 years, 11 of them as Headteacher. To the left is Rhonda Smith, Chairman of Governors, and to the right Valerie Gallop, School Administrator. Sir George proposed a toast to her health.
“This is a happy and successful school, for which most of the credit goes to Maureen Peck. It is exactly what a village school should be – well-supported by the local community, successful academically and bringing out the best in each child.”
A cut glass decanter was presented, along with other presents, and those present – including Governors, staff and parents – signed a card.
