To celebrate the Bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar, St Mary's Church, Abbotts Ann, hosted The Madding Crowd, who returned after an interval of a few years.
"They put on a great programme of music that would have been heard in Nelson's time, and wove it into a moving biography of Nelson with much material the public hardly ever reads about. Contemporary letters home from those serving with Nelson, and letters about Emma Hamilton that were less than flattering. By wearing contemporary dress and using contemporary instruments, the Madding Crowd recreated life two hundred years ago with great authenticity."
