County Councillor John Maxwell and Sir George went to Bishops Green to see the Fun Day, organised by Sentinel Housing and supported by the Community Wardens from Basingstoke and Deane.
"Everything is happening at Bishops Green; they have a brand new and now very well-used community centre; and plans to redevelop the estate to bring it up to modern standards. I am in touch with the Housing Corporation to make sure the resources are available, and Val Bagnall is planning extensive consultations with local people about the future. Ian Green and his team are running a successful youth club in the community centre and more and more activities are taking place on the estate."
Sir George gave the prizes for the wellie-throwing competition to Thomas and Gemma. The Fun Day had a Halloween theme, and marked the imminent demolition of the old community hall.
