Sir George joined children from St John the Baptists, Mark Way and Knight Enham Infants Schools at Sainsbury to launch the stores Active Kids Campaign.
For each £10 spent in the store, shoppers receive a voucher. The vouchers can be "cashed" by schools for sports equipment and team sports kits.
"Last year, 24000 schools took part in this campaign and, now we have a store in Andover, local schools are joining in. I know the pressure on school budgets in Andover, and they will welcome this opportunity to get equipment without digging into their own funds."
