A county-wide petition is gathering momentum, calling on Home Office Ministers to leave Hampshire's police force alone, and not to compel it to merge with Thames Valley.

"This is something I feel strongly about; which is why I spoke in the recent debate. (See http://www.sirgeorgeyoung.org.uk/News/pnewsitem.cfm?newsid=2661)
At the end of that debate, I was disappointed that the Minister did not refer to the strong case that was made on the County's behalf. This campaign has my whole-hearted support; a merger will bring costs and turbulence, with few benefits."
