At the Methodist Church Hall, Westminster MP's met campaigners lobbying to prevent climate change."This was a well-organised event; MP's were asked how much time they could spend, and spent ten minutes with each group until their time ran out. This was a better way of using the time available than having long speeches with very little interaction."
Sir George met one campaigner whom he had last met on the Newbury Bypass, which Sir George was building as Secretary of State for Transport and against which many people were protesting. "We agreed to differ on that occasion"
Sir George said he was impressed by the commitment and knowledge of those who had come along. "They were very well briefed on the key issues, and polite and persuasive."
