The Rev Ian Tomlinson, Rector of Appleshaw, the Head Teacher of Kimpton Church of England Primary School, Jackie Glover and Owen Tromans, Year 6 teacher, took a dozen eleven year olds from the school to Westminster.
They were taken round by their guide, Roger King, after being greeted by the local MP, Sir George Young.
Sir George also met them at the end of their tour, before they went to St Margarets Church. "They knew a fair bit about the building before they arrived, and they asked some searching questions as they went round. I hope one or two may come back in twenty years or so as Members of Parliament."
