Today's two fetes could not have been more different. Burghclere Down is a new estate in urban Andover, where the residents association has begun to bind the community together with a series of events held at the Community Centre. Colin Teasdale and his team have done a superb job, campaigning to get the estate finished, to tackle the petty vandalism and to build up a sense of belonging.

St Mary Bourne is a very well-established community with a long history of running successful events, that can take a Flower Show and fete in its stride and attract hundreds of people from miles around.

We enjoyed visiting both and, perhaps in a few years time, as many people will go to Burghclere Down as to St Mary Bourne.
