Andover's University of the 3rd Age celebrates 10th birthday
15 Aug 2006
The current Chairman of Andover 3UA, Alan Burgess, and three previous Chairmen celebrated 10 years of success and growth at the Guild Hall. Guest Speakers included the former Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Peter Boulton, and the local MP, Sir George Young.

On the ground floor of the Guild Hall was a display of some of the groups which Andover U3A had fostered, and upstairs there were speeches and a celebratory cake.

The group has expanded to the extent that a new group has now been formed Anton U3A. For further pictures, see the U3A Link below.

Sir George said that education did not end when one left school, and that one of the saddest sentences in the world was "If only I had known" He asked whether society made enough use of the knowledge and experience of those enjoying their Third Age.
