Mayor of Whitchurch switches on Christmas Lights
9 Dec 2006
In the middle of a snow storm, generated by Father Christmas, Cllr Hugh James, Mayor of Whitchurch, turned on the Christmas lights. This was preceded by carol-singing outside the Town Hall, and then Father Christmas moved to the Silk Mill to give presents to the children.
"This was another well-supported event in the town, which is raising its profile as a market town, offering a growing range of shops and services."
