Sir George with Phil Nicklin – left – Project Organiser for Laverstoke and Freefolk Millennium Green, and Barry Giffen, Chairman of the Parish Council and a Trustee of the Green. They are looking at the plans for the Millennium Green, which is being funded by the Countryside Agency.
“There are 250 Millennium Greens in the country and I am delighted that two are in my constituency; one here at Laverstoke and Freefolk, and one at Whitchurch. I congratulate the Parish Council and the individuals who are driving this imaginative scheme forward. There is something for everyone in these proposals – for the many children in the village; for those who have retired and those who work in the offices at the Mill.”
Sir George said he would liaise with the solicitors who are doing the land conveyances to make sure there was no unnecessary delay in making progress.
