The baton is passed from Thruxton Race Circuit to Thruxton Village. The baton is part of Test Valley's contribution to Millennium Year and is passed from village to village, with each one putting a message inside the baton before passing it on. Called “Hands across the Borough”, the baton is on its way next to Kimpton.
Dennis Turner, Chief Executive of The British Association of Racing Circuits – based at Thruxton – hands the baton over to Sir George after he opened the village fete.
