Ten years ago, Rev Chris Pettet was inducted as parish priest for the four parishes of Amport, Monxton, Grateley and Quarley. At Quarley Village Hall, 100 people gathered to celebrate the decade.
Speaking at the event Sir George said that the United Benefice was really united, with the four parishes all supporting each other and working effectively together.
He paid tribute to Chris' pastoral work - which embraced those of other faiths.
"The fact that so many people have come along this afternoon to say "thank you" is a tribute to your hard work and popularity."
