Andover Carers Centre put on an Information Morning at the Bridge in Andover, to help carers get the support they need and are entitled to.
The event was organised by Kerry Wincott, Chief Executive of the Andover Carer Centre and attended by Alex Stuckey, Chief Executive of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers.
Sir George met Mr and Mrs Keller who care for their son, as well as other carers. Cllr Sandra Hawke, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Social Care was also there.
Speaking at the event, Sir George said those fighting for a squarer deal for carers had achieved much - but more needed to be done.
"Paradoxically, the more progress is made, the greater the need for services like the Carer's Centre - to explain what people are entitled to, and to help and encourage them to claim.
And because the Carer's Centre are right at the sharp end, they are best placed to tell MP's of the the further improvements that are needed."
