After being introduced by the Rev Lucy Thirtle, Sir George cut the ribbon for a day of entertainment based at St Mary's Church, Kingsclere
“That’s Entertainment!” was an all day entertainment show in two parts bringing together local talent of all ages and abilities.
From 10.30 am to 6.00 pm was an informal rolling show of entertainment in which the public could come and go as they wished.
There was a broad spectrum of entertainers including musicians and singers of all levels and ages, solo or as a group, dancing and readings etc.
The ages of those taking part ranged from young children to the more mature.
The atmosphere of the event was enhanced by stalls with local craftspeople displaying their skills.
From 6.30 pm a more traditional seated entertainment show took place in which a more experienced local groups and individuals took part including musicians, singers and drama.
Beneficiaries Proceeds were divided equally between the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and St Mary’s Church Kingsclere Maintenance Fund
"Aurelia and I greatly enjoyed listening to local talent and browsing through the stalls. Hampshire has just started its own Air Ambulance, which may be based at Popham Airfield, and this worthwhile cause benefitted from the proceeds from the day. The Church was the other beneficiary, as there is a lot of work that needs to be done here."
Vanessa Martin Tony Savin and the Committee did well to organise such a wide-ranging day
