Tom Thacker organised an eight team Clay Pigeon Competition at Binley for the St Mary Bourne Branch of North West Hampshire Conservatives.
Awarding the Rickard Trophy to a local team called the Bunny Bangers, captained by Matt Culley, Sir George said that the event would have had to be cancelled, had there been a General Election the following Thursday, as widely predicted. The Runners-Up in the team competition were the Fulham Farmers ( a touring side)
Grant Soper won the Individual Competition.
"Although it rained in the early part of the morning, it cleared up in time for the Flush at the end and everyone enjoyed themselves. This has become a very popular fixture in the calendar, attracting teams from all over the country."
