County Councillor Roy Perry, Cabinet Member for Community Development and External Affairs, spoke at the Annual Lunch of the CWCC at St Mary Bourne Village Centre.
The lunch was chaired by Susan Beardshall, and attended by Sir George and his predecessor as MP for North West Hants, Sir david Mitchell.
Roy Perry explained the work he did with the faith communities in the county, in particular building bridges with the Muslim Community. He also explained that the County needed to be outward looking and aware of what was going on outside its boundaries. The small office it had in Europe had generated some £7 million of inward investment.
He was critical of some of the local government reforms that had been introduced, which complicated administration; and said there was scope for less interference.
