The Football Foundation has awarded a grant of £6759 to Andover New Sreet Football Club to launch a project called "Streets Ahead". This project is aimed at those of all ages who are keen on football but who, through impairment or disability, are unable to play in a mainstream team.

The project meets fortnightly during term time, when coaching is available and friendly matches are arranged.
"This is an enormously ambitious project, the brainchild of Lynda Richmond, the Youth Secretary of Andover New Street Youth Football Club, with support from Sue Simmonds, the Inclusion Group Secretary. With some initial funding from the HSA, the group started meeting last May with some eight to twelve players. With the further funding they have got, they now have a secure future for the next few years and I know they will attract additional players. They are lucky to have Sam Bull as a coach - Sam was Captain of the English Wheelchair Team in 2006."
The official launch took place in the Sports Hall of Harroway School. "I pay tribute to all the volunteers who have made this project possible."
