Churches in Andover united to raise money for Jacks Place at Naomi House.
Earlier this month, they put on three performances of "Jerusalem Joy" at John Hanson School, and raised £2700. The cheque was handed over to Doreen Healy and Margaret Tindal, representing Naomi House after a film of the musical at St John the Baptist Church last Sunday. Peter Middleton, representing the United Reform Church. attended the ceremony.
Speaking at the handover, Sir George said how much he had enjoyed the performance he had attended and congratulated Sharon O'Leary on being the driving force behind the idea. "I hope they might think of doing this again - it gave enormous enjoyment to so many people, brought out acting and singing talents of those who attend local churches, and raised a useful sum for an important local charity."
