Over £1000 was raised for the Gurkha Welfare Trust at an event held at the Goodworth Clatford Village Club.
Using two marquees generously donated by a resident whose daughter's wedding reception was held at the Club the day before, over 100 people enjoyed a Curry Lunch prepared by Gurkha soldiers, with jazz provided by Tim Eyles and his band, Tiger Tim's Ragamuffins.

"This was a popular event, well supported by the village, and brilliantly organised by Tony Bridger. He explained that 341 retired gurkhas were living in poverty in Nepal, and the charity would help bring them above the poverty line and help educate the children."
