The Andover Branch of the Embroiderers Guild celebrated its 10th Anniversary with an Exhibition of its members' works at the Andover Museum of the Iron Age. The exhibition was opened by the local MP, Sir George Young and lasts until June 21st

Speaking at the opening, Sir George said that embroidery was a dynamic craft, applying traditional skills to the XXlst century.
"The work on display varies from the practical to the abstract, and I am struck by the amount of thought that has gone on to the work on display. Technical skills are linked to new ideas - and i learned a lot from having the exhibits explained to me by the artists"

Sir George said he hoped that the Andover Branch would encourage men to join them, and congratulated the Branch Chairman, Chris Donaldson, and her members on a very attractive exhibition.
