Sir George opened the 31st Village Fete, organised by the Village Association under the Chairmanship of Richard Ward.

Proceeds from the fete go to cash grants for local organisations such as the Three Villages Sports Trust, the Church, the School and the Village Hall.

"This year, there is a stall raising funds for Help for Heroes, with a paint ball tent next to it. An additional attraction is a book written by one of the community police officers - Bill Williams. This is aimed at children, and portrays policemen and women in a different light to that often shown on television. It shows them helping people who are in difficulty, and helping people keep themeselves and their property safe - rarther than simply going around and arresting folk."

In addition to these stalls, there are traditional attractions such as a Dog Show, Children Races and a Bottle Stall.
