Amport School PTA is helping to raise £40,000 for a new class room at the school.
"They already have £21,000 under their belt, and today's Open Day will swell the coffers"

Along with many other supporters and parents, Sir George bought a £20 brick to help the project, before watching the Maypole Dancing, organised by the former Head of the School, Maureen Peck.

The total cost of a new classroom is some £300,000 - with the Diocese finding the balance.

"This ia a popular and successful village school, with the new Head, Bernadette Fleet, building on the success of Karolyn Grane and Maureen Peck."
