After his Advice Bureau at Tadley's Community Centre, Sir George looked in at the Royal British Legion poppy sellers who were selling poppies at Sainsbury's.

"I was amazed to hear that they have raised some £12,000 at this site alone, which is a tribute to the generosity of local people in Tadley - and the hard work of the volunteers who have been selling poppies. It is generous of Sainsbury's to allow the poppy sellers to sell poppies in the warm, and a large number of people were putting notes in the boxes as well as coins."
