Some 500 people gathered in St Mary's Church Yard for the Annual Service of Remembrance. The service was introduced by the Rev David Williams, vicar of St Mary's, with the address given by the Rev Colin James. A wreath was laid by the Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Brian Page, by the Deputy Lieutenant John Fairey, and by representatives of the Armed Services.

The parade subsequently marched past down East Street, where the salute was taken by the Mayor and the Deputy Lieutenant.

"Once again, this was a very moving service, with an attendance that was even larger than last year. With the 90th anniversary of the initial Remembrance Day, and the continued involvement of our Armed Forces in wars overseas, the local community was even more mindful of the importance of remembering those who have died serving their country."
