Sir David Mitchell, MP for North West Hampshire from 1966 to 1967, signed copies of his autobiography - From House to House - in Whitchurch Silk Mill, of which he was a Trustee for 17 years.

Friends and members of his family came along to buy their copies and get them signed - including his successor as local MP Sir George Young.

Sir George commended the book to potential readers, and said he had reviewed it for local papers and the House of Commons magazine. Sir David then spoke, detailing the beginning of some of the anecdotes in his book, and saying that if people wanted to know how they ended, they would have to invest in the publication
