Sir George criticises rail fare rises

Intervening in a debate on rail fare increases in the South East, Sir George compared the current increases of around 6% in regulated fares, with the approach of the previous Conservative Government, that linked regulated fares to RPI-1%.

Sir George argued that the previous policy was more likely to lead to a balanced and sustainable transport policy.
