St Mary's Church held a pre-opening event on Saturday, to tell people about the Youth Cafe they will be opening shortly.

"This is based at 2 Newbury St, with plans to open on April 25th. Called "The Revolution Internet Cafe" and located near the Town Centre, it provides a place for 11-18 year olds to drop in for a coffee, to surf on the internet and to meet their friends."

Sir George spoke to Colin Parker, one of the driving forces behind the project. "Colin explained that there were few places in Andover where young people could go without spending a lot of money, and this would provide a safe haven for them. They just want somewhere they can hang out with their mates. They can buy good value food there, and get advice if they need it from the volunteers who run the project. I very much welcome this further initiative by the church in Andover to reach out to young people."
