Sir George opened the 3rd Oyster Festival at North Waltham, congratulating Sue Lucas on organising it again and for raising funds for the local church.

"It is good of Rob Mackenzie to host this event - it is exactly what a local pub should do. This event brings the community together and provides great entertainment - The Caledonian Pipe Band, Morris Dancing, a Jazz Band and medieval battle re-enactment. It provides an opportunity for local charities, such as SSAFA, to raise funds - and families can have a good time together."

There was a beer tent, selling Oyster Stout to go with the oysters; and stands selling shellfish, jewellery, ice cream and cream teas.
