The village of Ecchinswell held a May Fair, or Fest.It began with a procession from the village hall to the Royal Oak, led by a traditional band. This was followed by traditional dunking in the stream, real ales, lamb roast and stalls selling a range of products. Proceeds from the day went to Naomi House Hospice and Ecchinswell Primary School. "Nicola and the team diod a great job organising the event, which brought all the village together."

The village is in the middle of negotiations to buy the Royal Oak from Enterprise Inns. The pub was closed last year, but re-opened when the village offered to run it as managers with a view to purchase.
