The theme for this year's May Fayre was "Pirates and Princesses" with stall holders dressing up accordingly; and the younger members of the village were encouraged to make rafts for the ever-popular raft competition.

"It was a pleasure to judge the raft competition, with three classes according to age. A faithful replica of the Kontiki caught my eye as the winner of the 11 plus age group."

Entertainment was provided by Jonathan the Jester, and there were traditional events such as sack races. Real ale was available at the beet-tent.

"Tara and James Scougall and the committee are to be congratulated on another very successful Upper Clatford and Anna Valley May Fayre."
