Sir George regrets closure of Cheltenham & Gloucester in Andover
10 Jun 2009
Sir George has been told by the Managing Director Mortgages of the Lloyds Banking Group that six people will be affected by the closure of the branch at 24 High St on November 6th.

"I very much hope it will be possible to find alternative work in the town for these six employees - either next door at Lloyds Bank, or over the road at Halifax which is now part of the same group; or at Charlton Place."

"It is very sad that the branch is to close, and the building it occupies is a significant one in the High St. I hope it will be used to provide more jobs in the town."
