Constituents have been emailing and telephoning me, complaining about the amount of information that has been withheld, when our receipts and claim forms were published yesterday. I understand the anger.
My expenses for four years are on line; 2008/9 was on my website on April 1st, and my expenses up to and including June are also there.
It is up to each MP to decide how much information to put in the public domain. Some have already published everything.
I have no objection in principal to responsible journalists seeing my unredacted expenses, subject to them not publishing details of bank accounts, telephone numbers, other entries on bank and credit card statements and information that relates to people other than me to whom I have an obligation of confidentiality. The Daily Telegraph already has these details and has published extracts.
