Over the weekend of July 3-5, Steve Burbidge ran an event at Andover Rugby Ground in aid of Andover Gateway.

"For the seventh successive year, Steve has run this event where bikers from all over the world come to Andover, for a weekend of entertainment and of riding on Salisbury Plain".

"Last year, he gave the profits from the event to St Michael's Hospice in Basingstoke, and this year he is supporting the Gateway Club, whose leader is May Bowsher. Each year they manage to raise between £1,500 and £3,000 for local causes and the weekend began with a barbecue. May Bowsher brought some 50 members of the Gateway Club, part of Andover & District Mencap, to the event and they had a great time".

"I compliment Steve on masterminding this event, which several hundred bikers attend, and which he organises entirely on his own. Speaking to the bikers, they really look forward to this event which is a combination of a reunion, and relaxation, and some off-road biking on Salisbury Plain, with permission from the Ministry of Defence".
