Andover & District Mencap held their 2009 Art Exhibition at the Bonhomie Centre, South End Road, Andover.

"Daniel Lobb and his team put on a great exhibition, to which they invited the Deputy Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Chris Lynn, the Executive Member for Children's Services, County Cllr David Kirk, Cllr Sandra Hawke and many others who have a commitment to Mencap."

David Kirk complimented two Mencap members, Martin and Aaron, on getting the Duke of Edinburgh's Golden Award, which was recently announced at the Great Hall in Winchester.

"They will in due course get their medals from HRH", David Kirk told the audience.

Sir George said he greatly enjoyed the exhibition, and thanked all those involved who put on the reception that accompanied it.

"We are enormously fortunate to have such a vibrant organisation as Andover & District Mencap, and I was excited to hear of their plans to buy the Wellington Arms, which was recently closed, and move out of the Bonhomie Centre to these new and larger premises".
