Geoff Mitchell, Chairman of Testway Housing, formally opened the new development of 2 flats and 8 houses at Pippin Grove, in Appleshaw.

"I remember the site from when it had a derelict sheltered housing scheme on it, and it is really good news to see the site put to good use, and accommodating in Appleshaw families who have real connections with the village" said Sir George.

The development was a result of effective partnership between Testway (part of the Aster Group)and Test Valley Borough Council Council. The £1.3million development was finished in June and received a grant of £585,000 from Test Valley Borough Council.

After Geoff Mitchell formally declared the scheme open, Betty Balcombe, a non-executive member of Testway, unveiled a stone apple, which was symbolic of the name of the development - Pippin Grove. After the formalities were over and guests had visited the flats and houses, Testway held a reception at the nearby Walnut Tree Pub.
