The Appleshaw Fete and Flower Show took place on Bank Holiday Monday, with traditional races such as the sack race and the wheelbarrow race.
Aurelia Young presented the prizes for the flower show, and Les Britten won the 'Top Tray'competiion for four kinds of vegetables, doing so for the second year running. Proceeds from the fete go to the school, the church, and to Pippins Playgroup. This year there was an added attraction of a stiltwalker from the Circus Malabristas, and there were the usual attractions such as the Hog Roast, the BBQ, and the beer tent.
The ladies won the Tug of War, and music was provided by Jubilee Trad.
