The Bishop of Basingstoke, the Right Reverend Trevor Wilmott inaugurated the new North West Hampshire Benefice. He licenced the Rev Dr John Courtie as Associate Priest, to join the Rector, the Rev Christine Dale, and the lay readers and preachers, before leading a pilgrimage to all the five churches in the new Benefice. These were St Thomas', Woolton Hill; St Martin's, East Woodhay; St James', Ashmansworth; St Michael & All Angels, Crux Easton and St Michael & All Angels in Highclere.

"Following the departure of the previous rector at Highclere, Tim Horsington, two Benefices have been amalgamated under Christine Dale, and to help her discharge her duties Dr John Courtie has joined as an associate priest. This was a good way of introducing him to the five churches, with a series of four short services at the churches ending up with a full length service at Highclere. John Courtie was warmly welcomed by his new parishioners, and I am sure the new North West Hampshire Benefice will settle down well".

The Ministry team includes Rosemary Cahill and Horace Mitchell as lay readers, and Angela Myers and Jenny Veasey as lay preachers.
