David O'Brien, Headteacher at Ecchinswell Primary School, invited the local MP to formally open the new Outdoor Environmental Learning Unit.
"This has recently been constructed at a cost of about £70,000, and it has transformed the area at the back of the school and it will attract a learning environment for the younger children at the school."
A yellow-painted canopy has been built along the side of the school, providing an all-weather outdoor area and, beyond that, is a more convention playing area with new equipment. "I was interested to hear the plans which the school has to plant vegetables and flowers and to make better use of the new space that has been created".
The children sang three harvest songs to Sir George, and asked him a range of questions, such as whether or not he played football, how he got to work, and whether he enjoyed his job.
