The Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Dame Mary Fagan DCVO JP formally reopened the two schools at Knights Enham after extensive rebuilding and refurbishment have taken place.

"Over the past few years, Hampshire County Council have had to take difficult decisions in Andover, which involved the closure of the two schools at Shepherds Spring. However, part of the proceeds of the disposal of the site have been reinvested in the neighbouring schools at Knights Enham, and I was enormously impressed by what the County Architect has done.

"There is an entirely new feel about the schools, and I was struck by the amount of light in all the halls and classrooms".

Before the ribbon was cut, children from both schools sang and then the VIPs were taken round by the pupils.

"Daniel very kindly took me round his school, and it was marvellous to get his insight into the impact of the improvements. It is now a much better teaching environment in which the two heads - Sandra Hunter and Ann Hughes - and their staff can work."
