Sir George went to his local pharmacy to reopen it after extensive work to modernise it.

"For many years I have been going to the Lancol Pharmacy in Charlton Road, when I needed a prescription. It has now been rebranded as "Your Local Boots Pharmacy", and the shop has been totally refurbished. There is now a consultation room, so customers can have a private word with the pharmacist instead of airing their health problems in front of anyone in the shop. I very much welcome the way that the skills of pharmacists are being used, to take some of the pressure off our doctors."

The building has got new fixtures, fittings and floorings and is much lighter. Staff who work are no longer hidden behind a wall, but can be seen by those in the shop. "The pharmacies in Andover are a vital part of the Health Service provision, and I welcome the extra investment that has gone into this particular shop."
