Kimpton Primary School invited serving soldiers, as well as those who remembered World War 2, to the school to remember World War 2. "For the past few years, Kimpton School have done this and the children ask very perceptive questions about what it was like during the Second World War. We were invited to bring along letters or mementos from the time, and I was very impressed by the background knowledge the children already had." At the end of the session, Sir George spoke of the importance of a country having a well equipped Army to defend itself from agression, but also to take part in peace keeping operations with other countries throughout the world.
