The Friends of Andover War Memorial Hospital held an open day at The White Hart in Andover in order to recruit new friends and volunteers, and to promote the work of the hospital and of Willow Court.

Sir George met Jo Badby, the Registered Manager at Willow Court to catch up on their news. "I was interested to hear that Willow Court is now being used for "Step-Down" - a process whereby people are moved from hospital into Willow Court on a temporary basis, before they are then able to move back home after convalescing." Sir George had his blood pressure taken by Katrina Walton, a Health Care Assistant at the Andover Health Centre.

Councillor Marion Kerley and Mike Reynolds, Chairman of the League of Friends, organised the event and they were delighted at the response. "A large number of people popped in, and this certainly raised the profile of the Friends of AWMH."

Also at the event were Cllr Graham Stallard and Gabrielle Preedy, Chairman of Andover Age Concern.
