Sir George formally opened Mumbai Thai in Upper High Street in Andover.

"This is the second of Taj Uddin's restaurants that I have opened recently, the first being the Pink Olive in Weyhill. Taj has decided that, with one restaurant near my home in Penton Mewsey to go to in the evenings, I need one near my office in Andover to go to at lunchtime. I welcome this new restaurant, as Andover cannot have too many high quality eating places".

In addition to the Pink Olive in Weyhill, Taj Uddin owns an Indian restaurant in Tidworth, and may have plans to open more restaurants in the area.

"What I like about Mumbai Thai is the emphasis on good quality design in the restaurant, and the warm welcome that you get when you arrive. I am sure Taj and his team will do very well here".

At the opening were the Deputy Mayor of Test Valley Borough Council, Chris Lynn and his wife Francis; County Cllr David Kirk and his wife Tracey; County Cllr Pam Mutton and Dennis, and Ian Axton, the owner of Andover Sound.
