Holy Trinity Church in Penton Mewsey helped raise a useful sum of money towards repairing its roof through an Auction of Promises, held in Penton Village Hall.

The guest auctioneer was John May, and over £5,500 was raised through selling 70 items. These included Tea for Two at the Houses of Parliament, a day’s fishing and a day’s shooting, a ticket for the races at Kempton on Boxing Day and Tea for six with the vicar.

“David Porter and his team did a great job in organising the evening, which included supper for £7.50. The proceeds will be split between Holy Trinity Church and the village hall, and the event was a sell-out”.
