Sir George publishes Legg letter

On October 17th, Sir George published on his website his initial letter from Sir Thomas Legg.http://www.sirgeorgeyoung.org.uk/News/pnewsitem.cfm?newsid=3616

In his letter dated December 7th, Sir Thomas set out his final conclusion below, which confirmed the initial finding.


"The conclusion about the ACA payments made to you that I now intend to include in my report to the Members' Estimate Committee is as follows:

Sir George was over-paid by a total of £104.48 for electricity costs for the period April 2005 to September 2005.

Total repayment recommended: £104.48

Total repayments received since 1 April 2009: £104.48 Balance recommended to be repaid: £0.00"

Sir George said that he believed in being open about his expenses, which is why they have been available on his website long before the recent problems
"In addition to the information on my website, my receipts are now published on the Conservative Party website. I am not appealing against the Legg decision, which I regard as fair."
