Sir George welcomes General Election
7 Apr 2010
Speaking in the House of Commons, Sir George said he was delighted that the Prime Minister had at last pushed the button for the General Election, and added that he and his colleagues relished the opportunity to make their case on jobs up and down the country over the next four weeks.

"I will be at Westminster on Wednesday and Thursday this week as Shadow Leader, speaking in the debates on the so-called "wash-up", when we deal with bills that have not completed their passage through both Houses. I will then be hitting the campaign trail on Friday and holding my last Advice Bureau in this Parliament on Saturday morning in Andover."
