Sir George formally opened the new Silver Surfer facililty in Union Street, in Andover Neighbourcare new premises. "We are enormously fortunate in Andover to have Neighbourcare, providing a wide range of services for the older people in the town and neighbouring villages. These include help with transport to doctors and hospitals; help with cleaning, gardening, shopping; lunch clubs, craft classes, a drop in centre, and outings." On National Silver Surfers Day, Sir George welcomed this new facility, and met volunteers and customers.

"The volunteers keep Neighbourcare on the road, and, again, we are very lucky to have so many volunteers who apply their knowledge and skills to services such as the Silver Surfer facility."

Also at the opening was the Mayor and Mayoress of Andover, County Councillor Pam Mutton, and TVBC Councillors Rob Bailey and Marion Kerley.
