Loddon Valley Lions Club held Tadley's annual Treacle Fair at Saunders Field in Tadley on June 6th.
"This was a great day out for the family, and it was as popular as ever".
The money raised this year will be used to fund the Loddon Valley Day Care Centre in Tadley, and contributions will also be made to the Kestrel Kids Trust.
The arena events included working sheep dogs, a display by the Solent Eagles Motorbikes, a fire and rescue services display and a flying demonstration by birds of prey.
"It was good to see a large number of voluntary organisations having stalls at the fair, and I caught up with the news of the Thames Valley Air Cadets. They take on boys and girls aged 13 and over and give them an insight into how our Armed Forces are run, and many then go on to a career in the RAF. I am grateful to all the volunteers who keep the show on the road in Tadley".
Sir George also looked in at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Stall, which funds the air ambulances based in his North West Hampshire constituency in Thruxton.
This year the Treacle Fair was blessed with good weather - one earlier year it was washed out and had to be transfered to September.
